This is where Gecko Creationz began. My kids' skin didn't get on with pharmacy products, so I started making my own from grass-fed tallow. This balm is that same simple idea: tallow and a few plant oils, whipped light and soft, with nothing added for scent.

- Warm a pea-sized amount between your fingertips.
- Press it into clean skin; slightly damp skin helps it spread.
- Use on face, hands and body whenever skin feels dry.

- Calendula-infused olive oil – My home-grown calendula, for extra softness and slip.
- Coconut oil – Softens the tallow so it whips up light.
- Castor & jojoba oils – A smooth, even glide.
- Vitamin E oil – Helps keep the oils fresh in the jar.

Store somewhere cool; it softens in heat and firms up again. Use within about 6 months of opening, patch test first, and note it contains beef tallow, so it isn't vegan.

What does it smell like?
Very little. There's no added scent, so you may notice a faint, natural buttery smell from the tallow. I render it several times to keep that as mild as I can.
Is it greasy?
Not once it's rubbed in. It can feel a little glossy for the first few minutes, then settles and leaves skin soft. If it feels oily, use less: a pea-sized amount is plenty.
Can I use it on my face?
Yes. It's made for face and body. Tallow can be too rich for oily or breakout-prone faces, so patch test first and start with a tiny amount.
Unscented or 100% Whipped: which should I choose?
Both have no added scent. The 100% balm is tallow alone, for when you want just one ingredient. This one adds coconut, castor, jojoba and calendula-infused olive oils and vitamin E for a smoother glide.
Whipped or solid unscented?
It comes down to texture. This whipped balm is soft and fluffy. Our Solid Tallow Balm – Unscented is firmer, made with beeswax and arrowroot for a less shiny finish. Neither has added scent.
