This is the bar that started it all. Grass-fed tallow from our local Marlborough butcher, rendered by hand, made into a simple cold-process soap. No fragrance, no essential oils, no colour. Just a mild, creamy bar that won't leave skin feeling tight. New to tallow soap? Start here.
How to use
How to use
- Wet the bar and rub it between your hands or on a cloth.
- Wash face or body, then rinse well.
- Let the bar dry on a draining dish between uses.

- Grass-fed tallow – Makes a hard, long-lasting bar with creamy lather
- Water – Dissolves the lye so it can make soap
- Sodium hydroxide (lye) – Used up in soap-making. None is left in the bar.

Keep it on a draining dish or in a soap saver bag so it dries between uses. For external use only: keep out of eyes and mouth, and patch test first.

What does it smell like?
Very little. It has a clean, plain soap smell, with no added fragrance or essential oil at all.
Does it lather well?
Yes, but it's a creamy lather with small, dense bubbles, not big foam. There's no coconut oil, which is what makes big bubbles. In cold or hard water, rub it on a cloth.
Can I use it on my face?
Yes, lots of people do. It's still true soap, so if your face feels tight afterwards, follow with a little balm. Keep it away from your eyes and patch test first.
How long does a bar last?
A long time, if it can dry out between uses. Tallow makes a hard, dense bar. The quickest way to lose one is leaving it in water, so use a draining dish or soap saver bag.
Is it vegan?
No. It's made with beef tallow, so it isn't vegan.
My husband and I love the 100% Tallow soap! Our original supplier stopped making soap and this has been the best replacement so far. We tried three other brands but none were 100% tallow or as good. So would definitely recommend the 100% tallow soap especially if you have sensitive skin, its so nourishing 💚🐮

I love this soap, foams up nicely & there's absolutely no smell. I've shared this with my daughter & she's now using this. I would highly recommend this.
Product works well but I should have thought about it more before buying. Next time round I'll opt for the scented versions as this one leaves my bathroom smelling like beef funnily enough 🫠

I have really struggled to find a soap that doesn't irritate my skin, generally over time my skin will react to anything I have used for a while.
This tallow soap has been a life saver and my skin is not as itchy as it used to be.
