A tallow soap scented with lemongrass essential oil and coloured with French green clay. The scent is bright, lemony and fresh, and the lather is creamy and gentle. Cold process, made by hand in small batches. A good wake-up bar for the morning shower.
Size and price: Approximately 100g per bar. One bar: $12 NZD. Two-pack: $21 NZD, saving $3 (12.5%) compared with buying two single bars.
How to use
How to use
- Wet the bar and rub it between your hands or on a cloth.
- Wash face or body, then rinse well.
- Let the bar dry on a draining dish between uses.

- French green clay – Gives the bar its soft green colour
- Sodium hydroxide (lye) – Turns the tallow into soap. None is left in the bar.

What does it smell like?
Fresh, lemony and a little grassy. It's scented only with lemongrass essential oil.
Does it lather well?
Yes, but it's a creamy lather with small, dense bubbles, not big foam. There's no coconut oil, which is what makes big bubbles. In cold or hard water, rub it on a cloth.
Can I use it on my face?
Yes, lots of people do. It's still true soap, so if your face feels tight afterwards, follow with a little balm. It has essential oils, so keep it away from your eyes and patch test first.
How long does a bar last?
A long time, if it can dry out between uses. Tallow makes a hard, dense bar. The quickest way to lose one is leaving it in water, so use a draining dish or soap saver bag.
Is it vegan?
No. It's made with beef tallow, so it isn't vegan.
