Solid Tallow Balm — Relax // Lavender & Frankincense

60ml — face, hand & body moisturiser

This is the balm for the end of a long day, when you just want to breathe out. Soft lavender and warm frankincense, with a quiet woody hum of cedarwood underneath — the kind of scent that tells your shoulders to drop. Like all our solid balms it melts the moment it touches warm skin. I render the tallow by hand in small batches here in Marlborough, and because tallow is so close to our own skin's oils, it sinks in and stays put — no slippery film left behind.

NZ Grass-Fed Beef Tallow

The heart of everything I make. It's rich and nourishing, rendered by hand and never rushed.

Calendula Infused Olive Oil

Calendula petals steeped slowly in olive oil until it turns gold. Gentle and comforting — one of the kindest things I know to put on skin.

Sweet Almond Oil & Castor Oil

Almond oil for softness, castor oil for that lovely cushioned glide. Together they give the balm its slip without any heaviness.

Beeswax & Arrowroot

Beeswax holds the balm solid and helps skin hold onto moisture. Arrowroot is my secret for the finish — it takes away the shine and leaves skin feeling silky rather than slick.

Lavender, Frankincense & Cedarwood

Calming lavender over warm frankincense, with cedarwood for a soft, grounding, woody base. This is the one for winding down — for evenings, for quiet, for letting the day go.

Vitamin E & Rosemary Oleoresin Extract

Natural antioxidants that keep the oils fresh in the jar. No synthetic preservatives, and none needed.

Ingredients: NZ Grass-fed Beef Tallow, Sweet Almond Oil, Calendula Infused Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Arrowroot, Bees Wax, Essential Oils of Lavender, Frankincense & Cedarwood, Vitamin E Oil, Rosemary Oleoresin Extract

Directions:

Apply a small amount directly to the skin as needed. Check for allergies before use. For external use only. Keep out of eyes and mouth. Discontinue use if any irritation occurs. Store in a cool, dark place.

Common Questions

We use Non-Nano Zinc Oxide at a very high concentration of 27.5%. This is a physical mineral barrier that sits on top of your skin to reflect UV rays, rather than absorbing into your bloodstream like chemical sunscreens.

Not at all! We render our tallow until it's perfectly pure and odorless, then add natural essential oils so it smells incredible. You get all the skin benefits without any animal scent - just beautiful, natural fragrance.

That’s the nature of Tallow! Because we don't use synthetic chemicals or softeners, the texture changes with the weather. In the cold, Tallow hardens up. If the bottle feels stiff, just run it under warm water or roll it between your hands for a minute to get it flowing again.

Not at all! We whip our tallow into a light, fluffy texture that absorbs quickly because your skin recognizes the fatty acids. No sticky residue or greasy feeling - just soft, nourished skin.

Our Whipped Balms are designed for daily moisturizing and are light and fluffy. This Summer Lotion is a heavy-duty outdoor product. It is much thicker, sticky (to stay on in water), and contains a massive amount of Zinc and Red Raspberry Seed Oil for protection against the elements.
